Meet Mr. Nick

Nick M. Rice is a versatile performer, choreographer, adjudicator, and dance educator from Des Moines, IA. He has trained at prestigious institutions such as EDGE PAC and Millennium Dance Complex in Los Angeles, as well as the Joffrey Ballet School in New York City. His professional work spans dance, theater, show choir, and creative direction.

Nick’s choreography has been featured at the Iowa Choreography Festival, Des Moines Arts Festival, and on WHO 13’s Hello Iowa! He has worked with artists including Jessalyn (Jojo) Siwa, the Iowa Energy High Voltage Dancers, and has performed as a professional dancer with companies such as Iowa Dance Theatre and Ballet Des Moines.

He is a certified instructor through the Nan Giordano Certification Program, Acrobatic Arts, and Dance Masters of America, where he currently serves as Friendship Committee Chair for Chapter #34. Nick is also an essential participant of the Iowa Choreography Festival, where he has served as producer, choreographer, dancer, mentor, and board member.

His students have gone on to attend top dance programs, including Oklahoma City University, American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA), Young Americans College of the Performing Arts, and NYU Tisch School of the Arts, among others.

Nick loves helping his students achieve their goals one by one, sparking joy, and fostering a lifelong love of dance and the performing arts.
